NEELAM SHEEMAR
Strategic Partner to CEOs
& Senior Leadership Teams
I see the gaps. I simplify the complexity.
I get you to growth faster.

WHO I WORK WITH
I partner with CEOs, Managing Directors, Boards and Senior Leadership Teams because that is where strategic decisions are made and where I add the most value. The leaders I work best with share a few characteristics. They are ambitious, they want to grow and they know the current trajectory will not get them there. They are honest and they are willing to hear an uncomfortable diagnosis if it leads to a better outcome. They are decisive once they understand the strategic picture, they act on it.If you are looking for someone to validate the approach you already have, I am not the right partner. If you are ready to challenge your assumptions and move faster than you thought possible, then I am the right person to work with you.
I do not sit below the leadership table. I sit at it as a peer, a challenger and a strategic partner.
01.
I see the gaps.
I identify what is missing between strategy and implementation. These include the structural, cultural and commercial gaps that prevent growth.
02.
I simplify complexity
I take the most complicated, competing organisational pressures and turn them into a clear priorities and a direct plan going forwards.
03.
I get you there faster
I work backwards from the outcome the organisation needs and build the most efficient route, while removing unnecessary steps.
HOW I SEE IT
Before you decide whether to work with me, it is important to understand how I think. These are not positioning statements but the strategic advice I give to organisations.
Most organisations do not have a strategy problem.
They have a clarity problem. The strategy exists, but it is not connected to commercial goals, to audiences, or how the organisation operates day to day. This disconnection is where growth declines.
Complexity is not the enemy. Unmanaged complexity is.
Every organisation is complex. The ones that grow fastest are the ones that have learnt to simplify, use data to inform decision-making, prioritise, and align everything to the strategic outcomes.
Senior leadership teams are often solving the wrong problems.
They are focused on activity rather than outcomes, on internal politics rather than market position, on what they are doing rather than what they need to achieve. Changing that perspective changes everything.
The gap between strategy and growth is almost always execution.
Focus is on execution not capability. Organisations know what they want, but they struggle to build the systems, culture and communication that actually gets them there. That is the gap I close.
WHY ME, NOT A STRATEGY FIRM?
Large strategy firms bring scale, brand and process. What they rarely bring is the ability to move fast, to connect strategy to communications to operations in a single integrated approach, and to stay until the outcomes are real.
I operate across the whole organisation not just one discipline.
I have spent 18 years working at the intersection of corporate strategy, brand, communications, stakeholder influence and operational transformation across private, public and third-sector organisations. I see how each discipline affects the others and I build strategies that connect them, because that is how growth actually happens.
I simplify where others add complexity.
Most organisations already have too many competing priorities and too little clarity about which ones actually matter. I do not add another layer. I remove layers until the path forward is obvious, the team is aligned behind it, and the organisation can progress.
I challenge the thinking at the top, not just the implementation below it.
The most significant strategic errors I have encountered were not in delivery. The wrong problem being solved, the wrong market being targeted, the wrong story being told externally. I challenge that framing at the source, with the leadership team before a single resource is committed.
I have operated at this level not just advised on it.
I have sat on Senior Leadership Teams. I have led the research programme for the Corporate Strategy for a 4,000-membership professional body. I have been part of senior leadership team who have overseen an organisational transformation while managing a team, maintaining performance and navigating board-level relationships simultaneously. I understand the pressure at the top because I have operated under it.
My breadth is not a gap in my profile. It is the source of my judgement and the reason I can see what specialists cannot.
WHERE ORGANISATIONS GET STUCK AND HOW I CAN HELP
These are the challenges I hear most from leadership teams. On the left, what they tell me. On the right, my strategic response.
01. Growth & Competitive Position
What leadership teams tell me
– Leadership cannot articulate why customers or stakeholders should choose them over competitors
– Growth targets exist but no clear strategic path to reach them
– Market position is reactive responding to competitors rather than leading
– Opportunities are being missed because nobody is scanning the environment systematically
– Brand identity does not reflect the organisation's strategic ambition
My strategic response
– Rigorous competitor and market analysis to establish genuine differentiation
– Outcomes-focused growth strategy built backwards from the destination
– Positioning framework that puts the organisation ahead of the market
– Environmental scanning embedded as a leadership discipline
– Brand and positioning realigned to strategic ambition not legacy perception
02. Operational & Leadership Effectiveness
What leadership teams tell me
– Senior leadership is operating at the wrong level managing rather than leading
– Strategy and day-to-day operations are not connected they pull in different directions
– No Corporate Strategy or Business Plan that the whole organisation understands and owns
– Roles, responsibilities and decision-making authority are unclear creating duplication and delay
– Data exists but is not being used to inform strategic decisions
My strategic response
– Leadership team repositioned to operate strategically not operationally
– Corporate Strategy and Business Plan designed to connect vision to daily action
– Systems mapping to identify the structural gaps slowing the organisation down
– Clear governance, roles and decision-making frameworks that remove friction
– Data strategy that turns information into insight and insight into decision
03. Communications, Influence & Reputation
What leadership teams tell me
– Communications is treated as a function rather than a strategic lever for growth
– The organisation is not reaching the right audiences with the right message
– Internal communications is failing and teams are misaligned, disengaged or uninformed
– Stakeholder relationships are managed transactionally rather than strategically
– Negative external perception or reputational risk with no crisis strategy in place
My strategic response
– Communications repositioned as a commercial and strategic growth driver
– Audience insight and messaging architecture that changes behaviour, not just awareness
– Internal communications strategy that builds culture, alignment and performance
– Stakeholder influence strategy that builds long-term relationships and advocacy
– Reputation management framework and crisis communications protocol
HOW I WORK
Every engagement is bespoke shaped by the specific organisation, its market and the leadership team I am working with. However, the shape of my approach is consistent. Here is what partnering with me looks like.
01. Diagnose
I challenge the leadership team's assumptions before recommending anything. I examine the organisation's commercial position, competitive landscape, internal capability and strategic gaps asking the questions that have not been asked.
The diagnostic tools and frameworks I use are proprietary. The output is an unvarnished picture of reality not what leadership wants to hear, but what the organisation needs to know.
02. Reframe
I reframe the problem. Most organisations are trying to solve a symptom. I identify the root cause, the structural or strategic issue underneath and reposition the leadership team's thinking around that.
This is where complexity gets simplified. I synthesise everything into a short, direct assessment that the board or SLT can act on immediately without ambiguity.
03. Design
I design a bespoke integrated strategy connecting growth ambition to operational reality and to communications. Not a template. Not a framework borrowed from a textbook. A strategy that fits this organisation and no other.
Every element is outcome-focused, not objective-focused. The distinction matters: objectives measure activity and outcomes measure impact.
04. Embed
I stay and embed. I work alongside the leadership team to move the strategy from paper to practice building the capability, the processes and the culture for the organisation to sustain its own growth.
Success is not the strategy document. It is whether the organisation is growing, performing and working smarter twelve months after I leave.
I do not hand over a document and leave. The strategy is the beginning, not the end.
STRATEGIC JUDGEMENT IN PRACTICE
The following are not case studies. They are examples of strategic decisions I made and the judgements that determined how I engaged, what I challenged, and what I built as a result.
Membership Body
What I did: Challenged the leadership team's framing. Designed and led the Corporate Strategy research programme to identify market positioning, new brand identity to ensure consistency and enhance reputation. Organisational repositioning and operating at a higher level across the entire leadership function.Outcome: Organisation transformed from the inside out. Strategic direction established. Brand and market position rebuilt. Capability to grow sustainably put in place.
Executive non-departmental public body
What I did: A seven-partner, 1,500-person infrastructure programme had no shared identity, no internal culture and no communications architecture. I designed the internal communications function from zero and internal channels.Outcome: A programme operating as a unified entity and won the Highways Partnership Award. Internal communications infrastructure built to last beyond the programme.
Major Infrastructure Schemes
What I did: Complex statutory stakeholder conflicts threatened planning consent on two nationally significant infrastructure schemes.
Led the strategic stakeholder engagement for statutory bodies and local authorities cutting through the complexity to reach agreements others had not been able to achieve. Delivered through full public inquiry.Outcome: Planning consent secured for both schemes. Programmes protected. Relationships with statutory bodies strengthened for future engagement.
PR Agency
What I did: Identified the positioning gap. Redesigned the client engagement approach, and created the conditions for new business development.Outcome: New clients won. 43+ successful public engagement events delivered for clients including Morrisons, B&Q and St James Securities.

Let us talk.
I work with CEOs, Boards and Senior Leadership Teams who are ready to think differently about growth.
If that is you, start with a 30-minute conversation. I will challenge your thinking, identify where the gaps are, and tell you honestly how quickly we can close them.
